Indian Anthropology has come a long way over the years, establishing itself as a dynamic discipline nourished by a variety of sources that began with administrators and missionaries and were later enriched by academic and research work in universities and research institutes. Because of Anthropology's absorbing quality as a holistic and comparative study of humanity, it has been able to prosper sustainably despite the enormous popularity of some other disciplines growing parallelly. We believe this uninterrupted journey of anthropology will continue for years to come.
This has been the source of our inspiration to make this effort to present before the academic world/anthropological fraternity the Indian Journal of Anthropological Research with the hope that it will provide a platform for scholars, professional anthropologists, and researchers to share ideas and research findings-both theoretical and empirical-from India and beyond.
INDIAN JOURNAL OF ANTHROPOLOGICAL RESEARCH is a refereed, peer-reviewed, bi-annual journal to be published in June and December each year. It proposes to publish a wide range of high-quality, peer-reviewed publications covering all the traditional and emerging fields of anthropological research. It welcomes empirical and theoretical papers, review articles, brief communications, book reviews, and any other news or communications on issues of anthropological significance and related fields of Social Sciences.
